Gary Timmins Jr.
U.S. Diplomat, U.S. Department of State

Gary Timmins Jr., an Illinois native, currently serves as a Foreign Affairs Officer for the Office of Multilateral and Nuclear Affairs within the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Arms Control, Verification and Compliance. Previously, he served as Senior Policy Advisor to Congressman Bill Foster with a legislative portfolio covering foreign affairs, the armed services, and intelligence policy, among other issues. In his nearly eight years working in Congress, he held several positions, including Staff Assistant, Legislative Correspondent, and Legislative Assistant. Prior to coming to Capitol Hill, Gary worked on a number of successful political campaigns throughout the Northern Illinois Region.

Gary holds a master's degree in strategic security studies from the U.S. Army War College and graduated from the U.S. Navy War College's fleet seminar with distinction. He received his undergraduate degree in international relations and psychology from Northern Illinois University.
